Waiting for Spring

I just returned from California, so waiting for Spring has become extra brutal. I know winter is coming every year, but when it’s March and still below freezing outside, that is when I wish I could import my warm & sunny roots to this city I love. As we await Spring and warm weather, though, there is one escape that is a favorite of many: The Garfield Park Conservatory! We love going to run around, and this week, we went with some friends. It was a wonderful getaway- although Rachel is getting her first molar, so she is an extra dose of fun. ;)

Spring IS coming people. Look at all of this life, and cling to it! (Yes, I recognize I’m being melodramatic. It’s what cold winters do to you. :) )

Bath Time.

We LOVE bath time at our house.

When I was having trouble with my supply and nursing, several mommas recommended that I take baths with Rachel to increase our skin to skin time. She loves it, so we’ve done it ever since! Now that she’s gotten bigger, she loves watching the tub fill up and splashing everywhere, of course.

When Dad is home in time, she loves goofing around with him and all of her bath toys because he makes all of these hilarious voices. You’ll see Jean-Pierre, her ducky, featured in these. :) (He is a french duck with a lot of attitude.)

I know we won’t be able to do this forever, so I wanted to capture it before she grew up too fast. Baths have been some of our sweetest memories with our sweet girl.

Is bath time a big event at your house? Did you ever take baths with your kiddoes? Any awesome toddler toys you’d recommend?

Enjoy the sweetness. :)

Trip to California!

If you don’t know, I was born and raised in Southern California. Most of my family is still there, so it is always a big reunion with us. We were finally able to get all of the cousins together, so my daughter Rachel got to meet nearly everyone for the first time. It was so fun to watch her interact with everyone, and explore all of these new places- especially the beach! I know I have a pretty big bias, but she is pretty stinkin’ cute in these photos. :)

Enjoy!

Rachel meeting her Great Grandma Sue!

These two ladies are birthday twins! Can’t wait to celebrate this month!

All of them finally together!
